Lady Jacks start strong on season

Thursday, Sept. 15, 2011 — The Westwood High varsity volleyball team has been owning the courts, going undefeated in two games to start off the season, then taking second place in a volleyball tournament.


The Lady Jacks hosted the Quincy Trojans Tuesday, Aug. 30, and won the match after losing the first game and taking the next three.
The first game, the Lady Jacks fell 25-23, but then came back strong winning 25-18, 25-11 and 25-16.

The Lady Jacks then hosted the Chester Volcanoes Tuesday, Sept. 6, and came away the winner in three games.
The Lady Jacks held on in the first game to take it 25-20, then walloped the Lady Vols in game two 25-6 before taking a 25-19 win in game three to finish the win.


The Lady Jacks traveled to Susanville to participate in the Lassen High Zara Jereda Memorial volleyball tournament held Saturday, Sept. 10, at the Lassen College sports complex.
After battling through the bracket, the Lady Jacks fell to North Tahoe in the championship game to secure second place.


The Lady Jacks then traveled to Paradise Adventist Tuesday, Sept. 13, in Chico, Calif., and took the match in three games. The team then hosted Los Molinos Wednesday, Sept. 14, and won three games to one.

Next up for the Lady Jacks is Fall River at 5:30 p.m. today, Thursday, Sept. 15.
