Lady Jacks improve record after second-place finish in tournament

Sept. 27, 2011 — Fresh off their second-place finish at the Lassen Volleyball tournament Saturday, Sept. 10, the Westwood High volleyball team continued to dominate the competition, earning four wins and two losses in two weeks of play.


Tuesday, Sept. 13, the team traveled to Paradise Adventist Academy and won the match in three games, 25-18, 25-6 and 25-19.


The Lady Jacks returned home Wednesday, Sept. 14, to take on Los Molinos.
Westwood continued the win streak by defeating Los Molinos three games to one.

It was a tough battle with the Lady Jacks winning the first two 25-19 and 25-18 before falling 25-15 in the third game. The team held on strong to win the fourth game 25-19 to take the match.
The Lady Jacks traveled to take on Fall River Thursday, Sept. 15, and lost in three games, 25-17, 25-14 and 25-18.

Westwood came back strong taking on Redding Adventist at home and won in three games 25-13, 25-22 and 25-20.

Once again, the Lady Jacks kept the winning momentum, earning a three-game win over Big Valley Tuesday, Sept. 20.
The team dominated the first two games, 25-15 and 25-16, before squeezing by in the third game with a 25-22 win to take the match.

Wednesday, Sept. 21, the Lady Jacks took on Quincy and fell three games to one.
Losing the first game 25-21, the Lady Jacks came back in the second in a 25-14 dominating win but were unable to keep it up and lost 25-18 and 25-15.

The Lady Jacks hold an 11-3 overall record in the preseason and will take on the Loyalton Grizzlies at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 4, at home for the first regular season contest.
