Lassen College rodeo begins competition on the road

Oct. 7, 2011 — The Lassen College rodeo team traveled to Feather River College in Quincy, Calif., Thursday, Sept. 22, for their first rodeo of the season under new head coach Taryn Krantz.

FRC, Cal Poly State University-San Luis Obispo, University of Nevada-Las Vegas, West Hills College, California State University-Fresno and Cal Poly State University-Pomona were the teams in attendance.

The men’s team took fourth with 598.50 points and the women’s team took fourth as well with 218.00 points.

John Redig earned first place in saddle bronc with 296.5 points.

Kody Kenworthy took eighth in steer wrestling for the Cougars with 69 points.

Shane Bohach took third in the team roping header with 126 points.

Austin Pope came in 11th in the team roping header category with 50 points.

Rosco Rhodes took the third place spot in team roping heeler with 126 points.

Brittany Luther took second in barrel racing with 218 points.
