LIVING CHRISTMAS TREES ARE IN
There are lots of new things happening out at Every Bloomin’ Thing this holiday season. Melissa McCoy, owner, said she has received a couple of truckloads of living Christmas trees this year. "There are some nice hardy trees that do well in our climate.”
She also informs us there are many holiday classes planned. If you want to make a fresh holiday wreath, centerpiece or hanging basket, be sure and stop by her store for the complete list of classes planned. They will also be happy to book a private class party for you. See her ad in this week's paper for more store information.
YOU CAN HELP
Once again the ladies at Town & Country Real Estate in Susanville will be collecting items for the Food-4-Families for the Lassen County Victim/Witness Assistance program. Broker/Owner Tina Cordoba informs us they are accepting non-perishable food items, and they will be matching all donations again this year. They are collecting items beginning this week through Dec. 1. Kindly drop off your donations at their Main Street office.
BLACK FRIDAY SHOPPING
Hard to believe it's already Thanksgiving week. A lot of our local businesses will be opening early for shoppers’ convenience this Friday, traditionally known as Black Friday. Remember all it takes is for each of us to spend $100 of our holiday shopping budget right here at home and it puts over $2 million back in our local economy. Help your community prosper this holiday season by shopping locally.
SMALL BUSINESS SATURDAY
This Saturday, Nov. 26 join Margie’s Book Nook, American Express and many other Susanville small businesses in celebrating Small Business Saturday. Instead of taking part in the over-indulgence of Black Friday in Reno visit Historic Uptown Susanville’s many fine small businesses and keep your holiday dollars local. Margie will also have a book signing from 1-3 p.m. with local author Shan de Wy talking about her book “Horses and Humans.” For details call Margie’s Book Nook at 257-2392.
CHRISTMAS AT THE RANCH
It’s time again for the annual Christmas at the Ranch gift and craft sale. Irene Doyle tells us the artisans and crafters have made lots of beautiful gifts and holiday home décor this season. NEW HAIR EXTENSIONS
The holiday season is here and it’s the perfect time to add a little bling to your hair. Rikki Sisneros at Hair Hunters in Uptown Susanville tells us she’s got a new line of glitter hair extensions in for the holidays. They come in assorted colors and can even be washed, blowdried and straightened with a flat iron. She also has new holiday hours and is available for appointments Tuesday through Friday from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. and is also available on weekends and can accommodate most scheduling requests.
NEW HOLIDAY GIFTS
Arlin Billington at Billington Ace Hardware tells us he’s got in his new lines of holiday gifts and home décor. You’ll find many themes in the gift aisle for the men and women on your list. If you collect painted ponies, check out the Barbara Eden designed dreamcatcher pony. There’s still time to give your home a fresh new coat of paint inside before all your holiday parties. The professionals at Ace are ready to mix the perfect color for you.
