Lassen hosts Foothill in semis
Lassen High School's football team will embark on a Northern Section Division I title by hosting a semifinal game against Foothill Friday, Nov. 16 at Arnold Field. Top-seeded Lassen (10-0) squares off against No. 4 Foothill at 7 p.m. Fans are recommended to show up a half-hour before the game. Tickets cost $6 for adults, $5 for seniors and $4 for students.
Foothill defeated West Valley 37-8 to advance to to the semifinals.
"It's going to be hard-hitting, physical game," Lassen head coach Tom St. Jacques said. "They like to play power football and are a lot bigger than we are. Our defense is going to have to step it up for us to win."
The Grizzlies have advanced to the semifinals three years in a row and have failed to win a championship game.
"Well, I'm proud we've given ourselves a chance to win a title, but it's time to win it all," St. Jacques said.
Lassen's Taylor Polan is expected to play. The senior running back has been sidelined most of the season with a strained ACL.
