Jan. 16, 2012 — The Westwood High boy’s and girl’s basketball teams remain undefeated in preseason play and have just begun the regular season.

The Lady Jacks proved they are ready to stay as they dominated the Downieville Warriors in a 64-9 win at home Tuesday, Jan. 10, for the first appearance in the Pioneer-Mountain League.

The Lady Jacks then met up with Big Valley Wednesday, Jan. 11, and walked away with a 61-33 win.

The wins improved their overall record to 11-0. The Lady Jacks continued league play against the Loyalton Grizzlies, Friday, Jan. 13. The Lady Jacks came away with a 54-43 win.

With the win over the Warriors, the Lady Jacks hold the number-one spot in league, as well as the number-one spot in Division VI.

The Jacks’ first league contest was a matchup against the Grizzlies. The Jacks owned the competition in a 71-44 win over the Grizzlies.

Before taking on the Grizzlies, the Jacks met up with Big Valley in a non-league contest and dominated the competition in an 80-14 win.

With an undefeated record in 14 games, the Jacks are at the top of the Division VI standings.

Up next for the Jacks and the Lady Jacks is a league challenge against the Greenville Indians at home today, Tuesday, Jan. 17.
