Due to the resignation of Ron Frederickson, effective June 19, 2012, the Janesville Union School District Board of Trustees made a provisional appointment to fill the vacancy at the June 12, 2012, Board meeting.
Chuck Downs was named the provisional appointee.
Unless a petition calling for a special election, containing a sufficient number of signatures, is filed at the Janesville Union School District within 30 days of the date of the provisional appointment, the appointment shall become effective.

The Lassen County Board of Education will hold a public hearing at their regular Board meeting June 27, 2012, at 6:30 p.m. at the Lassen County Office of Education (LCOE) regarding the County Office’s computer/website access filtering process.  The LCOE is required to have a filtering system that prevents students and/or staff from accessing websites that may contain information that would be determined inappropriate for academic purposes. This is an opportunity for parents to voice their concerns and provide input regarding the County Office’s technology filtering system.
