Judy E. Hiner
Judy E. Hiner passed away Monday, June 25, 2012. Judy was born in Palestine, Texas.
Judy had many accomplishments in her life. She met Joe Hiner in Salinas, Calif. and they married in 1963. Soon after, Joe and Judy went into training together to manage a Sprouse-Reitz Variety Store. Who knew that training would lead to successfully managing four stores? The first store was in Ely, Nev., the second store was in Elko, Nev., the third store was in Carson City, Nev. and then in 1964 the fourth store was in Susanville, Calif. They later resigned from the company in 1976 and bought a franchise. They operated the franchise and sold it four years later to buy the Eagle Lake Marina Business. Retiring from the Eagle Lake Marina Business in the fall of 1988 they moved to San Diego, Calif.
Judy was a seamstress which was something she loved. She enjoyed sewing many things and decorated their home with many of her creations and crafts.
Judy led an adventurous life getting great pleasure accompanying her husband, Joe, on the back of his motorcycle covering many places. The most notable of their many adventures was their road trip around the United States covering more than 10,2000 miles. Another was their trip to Alaska and back, camping along the way in a tent trailer. She was a life member of the Eastern Star in Jacksonville, Ore.
She is survived by her husband, Joe; two brothers, Sterling Mayden, of Santa Fe Springs, Calif., and Donald Mayden, of Blackwell, Okla.; and many nieces and nephews.
