Beth Ann Brazil

Beth Ann Brazil, 63, died peacefully at her home with her family by her side Sept. 22, 2012 after a short battle with cancer. She was born Oct. 21, 1948 in Sedalia, Miss. She grew up and attended schools in Missouri and Nevada, graduating from Las Vegas High School. She moved to California in 1987 and lived in Tracy, Lathrop, Salida and moved to Susanville (Eagle Lake) four years ago.

In 1994 she married Larry Brazil, her fishing buddy and best friend. Beth had three children and worked for Lawrence Livermore Laboratories for more than 20 years. Beth was an avid fisherman, and always out-fished the guys. She loved her animals, gardening, crafts and most recently, took up photography as a hobby. She loved taking pictures of the wildlife at Eagle Lake. She was also a championship barrel racer in the state of Nevada. Beth was also a member of Eagle Lake Community Church.

She is survived by her husband, Larry Brazil; three children, Tracee Loveland, of Desert Hot Springs, Calif., Clint Loveland, of Ceres, Calif. and Jakee Loveland, of Rhode Island; sister, Lynn Campbell, of Henderson, Nev.; four grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and two nephews.

Beth is preceded in death by her parents, Melvin and Elsie Dexheimer, and one grandson.

There will be a memorial held at 11 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 7, 2012 at Eagle Lake Community Church, 687-905 Lakeview Dr., Susanville, Calif. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Honey Lake Hospice, P.O. Box 1166 Susanville, CA 96130.

Walton’s Colonial Mortuary, Susanville, is in charge of arrangements. There will be a gathering after the memorial at Spaulding Community Services District, 502-907 Mahogany Way, Susanville.

 

James Thomas Boll

James Thomas Boll, of Oroville, Calif. died Sept. 20, 2012 at Renown Medical Center in Reno, Nev. at the age of 69. He was born June 22, 1943 in Ventura, Calif.

James is survived by his sisters, Pam Ramsdell, of Paradise, Calif. and Pat Burleson, of Gridley, Calif.

Norman Eugene Snyder

Norman Eugene Snyder was born in Kimball, Neb. Feb. 4, 1932 to Wayne Harold Snyder and Melva Pearl (Lockwood) Snyder. He had 13 brother and sisters. He passed away from a long illness with three of his children at his side, Trudy, Lori and Tim. He was 80 years old.

He grew up in Ronan, Mont. Norman became a professional boxer at a young age. He was known as Tiger Snyder and Duke Snyder. He met and married Alice Marie Erlandson. His boxing career took them to the west coast. They planted their feet in Westhaven, Calif. He started work for the lumber mill in Arcata, Calif. He also worked a small family farm at Clam Beach. The Eagle Lake Lumber Co. brought him and his family to Susanville in 1964. Norman worked at the mill until his retirement.

He enjoyed boating and fishing at Eagle Lake, where he owns property. He loved a drink in his hand and gazing at the lake and mountains. He enjoyed his friends stopping by for a visit. Dad enjoyed going home to Montana for family reunions to see his ever-growing family.

Norman is survived by his four sons, Randy and Gladys Snyder, of Payette, Idaho, Gary and Patsy Snyder, of Elko, Nev., Jim and Charolette Snyder, of Pendleton, Ore., and Tim Snyder, of Golden Valley, Ariz.; and two daughters, Trudy and Ed Hitcher, of Golden Valley, and Lori and Frank Farris, of Susanville. He is also survived by 16 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. Surviving Norman is also his six brothers and four sisters, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and two sisters.

A memorial service will be held at Walton’s Funeral Home Chapel in Susanville at 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 6, 2012, with a potluck at the T & A Lounge following services.

 

Forrest Lee Steinle

Lake Almanor, Calif., resident Forrest Lee Steinle died in his sleep, Monday evening, Sept. 24, 2012 at his residence. He was born May 31, 1932 to Fred and Rosina (Fleig) Steinle in Paso Robles, Calif.

Forrest is survived by his wife of 57 years, Joan, of Lake Almanor, Calif.; sons, Bruce Steinle and his wife, Christy, of Spokane, Wash., Fred Steinle and his wife, Kathy, of Carson City, Nev.; and daughter, Julie Alto and her husband, Kevin, of Eden Prairie, Minn. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Shannon, Callie, Christopher, Melissa and Fritz.

A celebration of Forrest's life is planned for 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 13, 2012 at Forrest's beloved First Lutheran Church in Greenville, Calif. An opportunity to express your condolences to the family along with signing the memorial guest register is available online at fehrmanmortuary.com.
