Rails to Trails Festival draws a large crowd
Lassen Land and Trails Trust's annual Rails to Trails Festival drew a large crowd to the Historic Railroad Depot on Richmond Road, Saturday, Oct. 6. The event featured a chili cook-off and salsa tasting, hand car races, live music and craft and food vendors. The Lassen County CattleWomen stir up a big batch of chili for the chili cook-off at the Lassen Land and Trails Trust's Rails to Trails Festival.
The handcar team Babes and Boys races down the track and places second with a time of 45.69 seconds. Procrastination, a group of local firefighters, came in first at 45.69 seconds. Toby Lau and Leonard Lpsiolos, of Australia, both in the back and Suzanne O'Young, front right, of Sacramento said they travel to Susanville to participate in the handcar races.
