Oct. 27, 2012 — Contemporary Christian music singer/songwriter Randy Stonehill will take the stage in Community Church's new building at 6:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 27 and at 9 and 10:45 a.m. Sunday, Oct 28.
Stonehill is a California native who released his first album in 1971, just after converting to Christianity.
His eclectic folk rock musical sound has been compared to James Taylor, although his stage performances are said to include comedic interludes reminiscent of Robin Williams.
“He goes way back to the days when I was a young man,” said Community Church Senior Pastor Rick Conrad. “Dana and I first saw him perform in '73 …”
Conrad said Stonehill has a lot of energy and is a little goofy. “He really knows how to light up a room,” said Conrad.
Stonehill is a Compassion International representative and Conrad said he will share information about the Christian child sponsorship organization. “Church folks and un-church folks will enjoy his spin on music,” said Conrad. “There won't be any candles or Kumbaya.”
The concert is free and all ages are welcome. For more information, call Community Church at 257-2924.
