HOLIDAY OPEN HOUSE

Curt and Dana Hirsche, owners of Leslie's Jewelry in Uptown Susanville, are hosting a Holiday Open House from 6 to 8 p.m. this Thursday, Dec. 6. They will be featuring some specials on a distributor’s closeout items. Be sure and stop by for some great deals and holiday cheer.

HOWL A-DAY BENEFIT

This time of year we want to make sure everyone has a special holiday — even your four-legged friends. Joanie and Monte Kielty, owners of Treats Natural Pet Marketplaces (in Susanville and Chester), are sponsoring a Howl-A-Day benefit this month. You can bring in your previously loved beds, blankets, collars, leashes and toys that are still in good shape to their stores or donate a bag or can of pet food. All items will be given to the Lassen Human Society, P.A.W.S and Pets in Need. Donation need to be made by Dec. 20.

ANNUAL CHOCOLATE FESTIVAL

It’s time for the annual Chocolate Festival in Uptown Susanville from 4:30 to 8 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 8. The event is open to the public. In addition to delicious homemade treats you can also enjoy the wonderful creations of the many art and craft vendors, too.

PLUMAS BANK’s HOLIDAY MIXERS

Plumas Bank is celebrating the season with the community by hosting its annual holiday mixers; they will be held from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 6 at the Susanville branch, and from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 12 at the Portola office. You can also enjoy refreshments when you do your everyday banking at the Greenville or Quincy branches beginning Wednesday, Dec. 12 through Friday, Dec. 14. The Chester office will have its Customer Appreciation Days Wednesday, Dec. 19 through Friday, Dec. 21. CHRISTMAS IN THE MOUNTAINS

Join the fun under moonlight skies as Westwood celebrates their fourth annual Christmas in the Mountains, from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday, Dec. 7. The event will be held at the Community Center at Birch and Third streets. The festivities include booths of treats and crafts from local businesses and organizations. They will be lighting the town tree; there will be a Christmas light parade on Third and Ash streets. Bring the whole family for good food, fun and, of course, photos with Santa.
