Benefit dinner to be held for Lassen Ale Works employees
Dec. 13, 2012 — A benefit dinner has been scheduled to assist the 35 employees at Lassen Ale Works at the Pioneer Saloon who are not able to work after a Tuesday, Dec. 11 fire temporarily closed the business doors.
According to Margaret Liddiard, people in Susanville and Lassen County have asked how they can help and here is how.
The benefit dinner is scheduled for 6 to 9 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 15 at the Susanville Elks Lodge.
The brew pub was planning to run Baby Back Ribs as the special this weekend so people will be getting those delicious ribs and chicken with Rooptown Red barbecue sauce and hamburgers plus sides including corn on the cob, garlic bread and salad for a donation of $15 per person.
Lassen Ale Works beer will be on the taps at the bar, too and Tom Braun’s band “Fourgery,” will provide special music.
After the fire, Liddiard said her biggest concern was for her employees. The plan is to get the bar re-open as soon as possible, but even when that happens, all the employees won’t be back at full employment.
Liddiard said she doesn’t want to lose any of her employees and is very worried about them financially.
In a press release, Liddiard said, “Lassen Ale Works at the Pioneer Saloon would not be the warm and welcoming place it is without the dedicated servers, bartenders and kitchen staff who work here. Please help raise the funds they need to help them cover basic living expenses through this lean holiday season. The brew pub will reopen as soon as repairs are complete — and the staff and management at LAW can’t wait to serve you under the cattle brands and the historic mural once again.”
