Janesville man arrested on drug charges
May 14, 2013 — Susanville police officers arrested a man Friday, May 10 after receiving a report of an unconscious man in a vehicle at the KFC parking lot.
Officers responded at approximately 11 p.m. and upon arrival they contacted Thomas Ray, 47, of Janesville, in the driver’s seat of the pickup.
According to a press release from the police department, Ray appeared to be disoriented and was subsequently arrested and taken into custody for allegedly driving under the influence.
He was initially booked in the Lassen County Jail, but during the booking process it was found Ray was in the alleged possession of a controlled substance. A presumptive test indicated the substance was methamphetamine.
The press release said Ray was subsequently charged and booked on charges of possession of a controlled substance and bringing a controlled substance into a jail facility. He was held on a $25,000 bail.
The case has been referred to the Lassen County District Attorney’s office for prosecution.
