AUTO PARTS IN WESTWOOD
Reed Slockett is the manager of Cascade Auto Parts which is now open on Ash Street in Westwood. The auto parts store is affiliated with Auto Value Parts Stores and Certified Service Centers, one of the largest parts distribution networks in the world. They also carry parts for marine and off-road equipment. The business is owned by longtime Susanville resident and businessman Brian Phillips, who also owns and operates Susanville and Lake Almanor Towing. Reed owned and operated an auto parts store in Westwood several years ago.
W’WOOD HALLOWEEN PARTIES…
The Double G Iron Horse Saloon on Ash Street in Westwood is holding its second annual Halloween costume party from 9 p.m. until 2 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 26. There will be live music, random giveaways, prizes for the best-dressed adults in three different categories and an outside warming fire.
Also on Ash Street in Westwood, the Moonlight Bar and Grill is having their annual Halloween party from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 26 as well. They too will have live music, a costume contest with three winners and a best couple prize and door prizes.
OCTOBERFEST IN SUSANVILLE
The Susanville United Methodist Church is celebrating Octoberfest beginning at 5 p.m. this Saturday, Oct. 26. They will be serving up a delicious dinner and live German folk music for entertainment. Everyone is welcome to join them. There is a fee for dinner. You will find them at 635 Cottage St. in Uptown Susanville.

SENIOR CENTER CRAFT FAIR
Lassen Senior Center is having their annual Art and Craft Show from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Oct. 26. There will be lots of great home décor and gift-giving ideas, plus treats for children. You can even purchase chili and nachos for lunch. So grab your girlfriends and head over to the senior center on Sunkist Drive in Susanville.
FALL GLUTEN-FREE TASTING AT THE HEALTH NUT
This Thursday, Oct. 24, The Health Nut will again be hosting their popular tasting event for Namasté gluten-free foods. Chef Linda Owings will be serving her now-famous zucchini spice cake, a delicious hot pasta dish and gluten-free pumpkin pie. Come in for a taste and some free goodies, too, from 11:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the Health Nut.
