Oct. 25 — The Lassen Community College wrestling team hosted Shasta College for its first home dual Wednesday, Oct. 23. Lassen won the dual by a large margin of 37-12.
The gym at Lassen College was packed with students and fans who cheered and screamed as the Lassen wrestlers took on Shasta and continuously put points on the board.
“I thought our team wrestled hard. There was extra incentive with the match being a conference foe, in front of our crowd for the first home dual of the season. But asking a coach how his team did is a bit like asking a farmer about the rain, neither one gets exactly what they want. We had high points and low points. Our mandate is to get back in the room and address where we can improve. If we continue to build toward the future, it will pay off for the postseason competitions,” said Lassen College head wrestling coach Francis Beaujon after the dual.
Lassen’s next home wrestling dual is against Sacramento City College at 4 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 30.
