Mt. Shasta overcomes varsity Grizzlies

Dec. 19, 2012 — After an undefeated weekend in the Lassen Invitational Tournament, the Lassen High School varsity basketball team lost to Mt. Shasta on Tuesday evening. The final score was 60-52. Senior Brian McDonald is pictured shooting a basket for the Grizzlies.

The Lassen High School boy’s junior varsity basketball team poses with their first-place trophy they won during the Quincy Tournament Sunday, Nov. 31. The Grizzlies went 3-0 in the tournament, beating Quincy in the first game, 81-41, Portola in the second game, 62-20, in the championship game they took on Fallon and won, 65-46. Raschein was named most outstanding player of the tournament and Barnetche received all-tourney honors.

Varsity football awards are scheduled for 7 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 5 in the Student Center at Lassen High School.

 

Lady Jacks beat the Honkers in first-round of playoffs

Nov. 15, 2012 — The Westwood High School volleyball team hosted the Tulelake Honkers in the first round of playoffs Tuesday, Nov. 6. The Lady Jacks ended up routing the Honkers in three straight sets and advancing to the second round.

The Lady Jacks came in as the fourth-seed in the playoffs and were ready to take on the fifth-seeded Honkers.
