Angela Marie Harper passed away at Renown Medical Center in Reno on Aug. 31 following complications from surgery. Angela was born on October 17, 1966 in Oroville, Calif.
Angela’s childhood years were spent in Susanville. She graduated from Lassen High School in 1984. Angela met Ken Harper in August 1985 and they were married on Valentines Day, 1986 in Reno. Nev.
Those who knew Angela will remember her as a very caring person, always finding ways to help someone in need. She was a very active member of Blue Star Moms and enjoyed doing whatever she could to ease the stress of our veterans and enlisted men and women in the Armed Service.
Her children cherish special memories of her always being there for them. She was an enthusiastic supporter of their participation in school sports. Days spent fishing will always be remembered as special days of growing up. The past two years in her role as grandma were the highlight of her life.
Angela was a highly valued employee of Drs. Linda and Curtis Vixie, and Dr. Veryl Drury. She worked for their practice for the past 16 and a half years as a registered dental assistant. Angela always put her commitment to her job first and her personal needs second. She will be missed by all the doctors, staff and patients.
She is survived by her loving husband of 25 years, Ken Harper, Cory Harper and wife Brandy, and their daughter Aubrey of Grain Valley, MO. Karisa Harper and son Liam, of Janesville. Parents Elliott and Cecile Lyman, of Janesville. Brother, Mark Jones of Paradise, Calif. Angela was preceded in death by her older brother, Kevin Jones.
A celebration of Angela’s life will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 9 at the Veteran's Hall, followed by internment at Diamond Crest Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations may be made in her memory to Soaring Eagle Blue Star Moms, 1205 Main St., Susanville, CA 96130.
