Woman sustains fatal injuries from Highway 395 crash

A Janesville woman sustained fatal injuries following a two-vehicle accident Friday, Nov. 16.

The identity of the 65-year-old woman is pending notification.

According to a statement from the California Highway Patrol, Man Hoe Cha, 78, of Sparks, Nevada, was driving a 1997 Ford E-350 Club Wagon van pulling a utility trailer northbound on Highway 395 south of the Doyle Overhead around 10:44 a.m. Friday, and allegedly lost control of the vehicle as the woman was driving southbound in a 2006 Subaru Outback.

The left front of the Ford struck the left front side of the Subaru, the statement continued, and both vehicles ran off the west side of Highway 395.

The Subaru rolled an unknown number of times before coming to a rest on its wheels.

The woman, who was the only occupant in the Subaru, sustained fatal injuries. The driver of the Ford was not injured.

The cause of the collision is still under investigation, the CHP continued, and witnesses are encouraged to call the department at 252-1800 to provide a statement.
