314 Action Fund congratulates Democratic nominee Dr. Richard Pan on victory in California’s 6th Congressional District

The Associated Press has called the race for Dr. Richard Pan, who is advancing to the general election as the Democratic nominee for California’s 6th Congressional District. As a pediatrician, Dr. Pan is one of 314 Action’s Guardians of Public Health candidates.

In response, 314 Action Fund President Shaughnessy Naughton released the following statement:
“314 Action Fund congratulates Dr. Richard Pan on advancing to the general election for California’s 6th Congressional District.

“Dr. Richard Pan is RFK Jr.’s worst nightmare. In the state legislature, he delivered the strongest vaccine legislation in the country and lowered the number of the uninsured Californians by two-thirds. He protected Californians during measles outbreaks and took on RFK Jr. twice, and won. Today, voters chose Dr. Pan because they are looking for a fighter in Washington who will protect Americans from public health disasters, deliver affordable healthcare for their families, and have the courage to stand up to Republicans — and win.

“Dr. Pan is running a strong campaign that leads with his unparalleled experience, expertise and record of results. Voters have shown they trust doctors to serve them, not party-switching career politicians like Kevin Kiley. We’re proud to support Dr. Pan and look forward to powering his campaign across the finish line in November.”

314 Action Fund has gone all-in to support Dr. Pan, launching a Joint Fundraising Committee named the “Dr. Richard Pan Stop RKF Jr. Committee.” The JFC is the first-of-its-kind—placing a bullseye on RFK Jr.’s dangerous MAHA policies. Earlier this month, 314 Action Fund and Dr. Pan released a broadcast TV ad titled “Stop RFK Jr.” This investment totals $1.5 million between the JFC and Super PAC spending.

Dr. Richard Pan is a pediatrician, UC Davis professor and former California legislator. He earned a BA degree in biophysics at Johns Hopkins University, MD at the University of Pittsburgh, and MPH at Harvard University and currently teaches health policy at UC Davis. In the legislature, Dr. Pan chaired the Committee on Health and led the state’s implementation of the Affordable Care Act. He also reduced the uninsured rate by two-thirds and authored California’s landmark vaccination laws.
