Community, agencies help save softball fields

The public and governmental agencies work together to save the local softball fields.

According to a Facebook post from the Lassen County Sheriff’s Office, “This morning we worked with Lassen County O.E.S., Lassen County Public Works, city of Susanville Public Works, and a number of volunteers to sandbag a breached drainage ditch above Meadowview School and Susanville Ranch Park. Working together, we were able to limit the damage to the softball fields. Thanks to everyone who came out to help.”

According to a Facebook post from Lassen Fast Pitch Softball, “What an amazing community we have. We appreciate all the amazing volunteers who came out today to help with the field issues we had. Special shout out to Lassen County Sheriffs Office, city of Susanville, Lassen County Public Works, Lassen County OES, Susanville Fire Department, Marc Murphy, Mitch Murphy, Steven Eck and all the coaches and board members who came out and got their hands dirty today.”
