The California Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control has revoked the license of T&A Cocktail Lounge and Restaurant in Susanville after the death of a patron who was overserved and sold narcotics by a bar employee.
Following a backtrack investigation by ABC agents, it was determined that on Feb. 23, 2022, T&A bartender Eric Moore served a victim nine cocktails and two beers over a three-hour timeframe.
Moore additionally sold the prescription oxycodone to the victim, who consumed the controlled substance on the licensed premises. After receiving a ride home from a family member, the victim passed away due to an overdose from the drugs and alcohol in his system.
Moore was found guilty by a jury of second-degree murder in December.
ABC sought disciplinary action against T&A Cocktail and Lounge’s alcoholic beverage license for permitting the illegal sale of controlled substances upon the licensed premises and overserving a customer.
The licensee originally took the ruling to a hearing, where revocation was ordered. The revocation was later affirmed by the Alcoholic Beverage Control Appeals Board.
