PSA2 Area Agency on Aging presents a free caregiver support event from 2 to 4 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 10, at the Northeastern Health Clinic, 1850 Spring Ridge Drive in Susanville.

Session 1 — How to speak Alzheimer’s and related dementia dialects In session 1, participants will learn about communication techniques to use when caring for a person with memory loss. Participants will gain tips and examples for challenging situations.
Kelsi Halvarson.
Session 2 — Understanding long=term care In session 2, participants will learn about residential care options when caring for a loved one, including assisted living, memory care and skilled nursing. Participants will explore options for care and ask question of your local ombnusman.
