Hadwick informs citizens about the upcoming election

According to a statement from Assemblymember Heather Hadwick, California’s Statewide Direct Primary Election is Tuesday‚ June 2‚ 2026. Ballots began mailing May 4‚ so you do not have to wait until Elaection Day to vote.

• By mail.
• At an official drop box (open May 5 through Election Day).

Heads up
Depending on where you live‚ your ballot may include a Special Primary Election to fill a vacancy for Congressional District 1 for the remainder of this year and a Primary Election for the 2027‑28 term.

Due to the Governor’s Proclamation both elections will take place on June 2.
