A thank you to Junior Fishing Derby partners

This year’s Junior Fishing Derby overcame many obstacles. Originally scheduled for May, the weekend before the start of fishing season, the annual event was postponed due to concerns about the safety of the young fisherfolk due to high water in the Susan River.

While the Lassen Sportsmen’s Club handles most of the heavy lifting to organize the derby, the community rallies behind them to ensure a wonderful event for the children in our community. Kudos to all from Lassen News as well. And kudos to the spirit of the kids in our community who braved the cool rain to go catch a fish. Well done!
