Access to Richmond Road from Highway 36/Highway 395 intersection to be closed Sunday
Access to Richmond Road from the Highway 36/U.S. 395 intersection in Susanville is planned to be closed from 7 p.m. Sunday, July 17 until 7 a.m. Tuesday, July 19. Work during this time includes grinding, placement of signal loops and paving.
Local detour access during closure
Motorists traveling east on Highway 36 can utilize South Weatherlow Street to Richmond Road. Motorists traveling west on Highway 36 can utilize Riverside Drive to Richmond Road.
Through traffic/larger vehicles are advised to stay on Highway 395 and Highway 36 and not use these local detours. Changeable message signs will be in place prior to and during this work with detour information. This work is part of the current Bass Mountain Mill and Fill Project, which is repaving Highway 395 from just north of Sunnyside Road to just north of the junction with Highway 36. Motorists are urged to slow down and drive carefully in and around construction areas, follow speed limit reductions in place and allot extra time for delays and detours.
