Alleged thief arraigned

Kameron Dennis, a suspected package thief, was arraigned Aug. 5 on felony charges of conspiracy and possession of stolen property as well as a misdemeanor theft crime,” according to the Lassen County District Attorney’s Facebook page.

According to the post, “Dennis is alleged to have sustained seven  felony convictions over the last five years from Los Angeles County. He is also alleged to have been on active supervised release at the time of these thefts. These priors and other allegations are contained within the charging document.

“Bail in criminal cases is determined and set by the judicial officer presiding over arraignments; it is not set by law enforcement or the district attorney. The judicial officer considers an accused’s ability to pay as well as makes a determination whether the accused is a flight risk or a threat to public safety. In this matter, bail was set at $25,000.

Dennis’s next court date is a preliminary hearing scheduled for Aug. 17.”
