Arts Council announces new show, Tuesday evening reception
The Lassen County Arts Council announces a new August/September show and an reception will be held in the near future.
Wood and Iron exhibit
A unique show featuring local craftsmen is now on display at the Lassen County Arts Council’s Cottage Street Gallery. During August and September we will be featuring the work of sculptor Ron McBride; David Sandborg, leather goods; Than King, metal working and sculpture; Rob Brown, wood vessels, utensils and wall art; and Russell Bates, assemblage with metal objects. This show, which we are unofficially calling the “man show” is sure to be a favorite among the guys!

Also on display this month are the two quilts created by the Susanville School District’s English Learner Program.
The program was the recipient of LCAC’s CARES grant earlier this year.
Claudia Dunlavy, English Learner Program Coordinator for the Susanville School District, said, “The (quilt) squares express their homeland culture, language, landscapes, ideals and symbols, conveying an expression of goodwill and a show of homeland pride, cultural identity and inclusiveness.”
The arts council also announced it will be participating in the HUSA Wine Walk on from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 11.
Regular gallery hours are 4 to 7 p.m. Thursdays and Fridays and from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturdays.
