Betancourt, Dahle make November election ballot

Democrat Elizabeth Betancourt and Republican Megan Dahle will face each other in the Nov. 5 Special General Election for the California District 1 Assembly seat.

In the Tuesday, Aug. 27 Special Primary Election, Elizabeth Betancourt (D), received 27,786 votes (39.1 percent), Megan Dahle (R), received 25,669 votes (36.2 percent), Patrick Henry Jones (R), received 12, 298 votes (17.3 percent), Joe Turner (R), received 3,943 votes (5.6 percent) and Lane Rickard (R), received 1,305 votes (1.8 percent), according to the California Secretary of State’s Office.

Locally, Dahle received 1,963 votes (53.37 percent), Betancourt received 823 votes (22.38 percent), Turner received 532 votes (14.46 percent), Jones received 293 votes (7.97 percent), Rickard received 60 votes (1.63 percent) and voters cast seven write-in votes (0.19 percent), according to the Lassen County Clerk’s Office.
