Big Valley Groundwater Basin Advisory Committee hosts public meeting

Lassen and Modoc counties have agreed to serve as the Groundwater Sustainability Agencies for their respective portions of the Big Valley Groundwater Basin.

The committee hosts a public meeting at 4 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 2 at the Adin Community Center, 605 Highway 299, Adin, California. Public participation offered in person and via webinar or conference call.

The GSAs have agreed to work collaboratively to develop a single Groundwater Sustainability Plan for the entire BVGB, as required by Sustainable Groundwater Management Act.

The Big Valley Groundwater Basin Advisory Committee has been established by the GSAs to help guide the process. All BVAC meetings will be open to the public and public comment on GSP development will be heard at each BVAC meeting.

At the Dec. 2 meeting, the committee will introduce and discuss Revised GSP Chapter 6 Water Budget, which compares inflows and outflows of groundwater in the Big Valley Basin. The committee will also discuss stream gage project updates and a proposed new schedule for the regular public BVAC meetings.
