Bizz Johnson Trail users — be aware of tomorrow’s Lassen Gravel Adventure Ride
If you plan to use the Bizz Johnson Trail or other connecting trails tomorrow, Saturday, Sept. 9, be sure to be aware and use caution because as many as 300 bicycle riders will be out on the trails participating in the inaugural Lassen Adventure Gravel Ride, hosted by the Susanville Area Bicycle Association and Lassen Land and Trails Trust. While the ride is not a race, some riders are may be traveling at high speed.
Those using the trail with horses, dogs or children should be aware they may encounter the gravel ride riders on the trail tomorrow.
Lassen Gravel Adventure Ride participants will begin their rides at the Historic Railroad Depot at 7 a.m. 8 a.m. and 9 a.m. and finish their rides there as well.
Lassen Gravel Adventure riders will also be on other trails in the area as well.
Post-ride Party at the Depot
According to a Facebook post on the event, “You won’t want to ditch the post-ride party. ChaChas Tacos will be serving their fantastic tacos for your post-ride meal. They will have chicken, birria, veggie, and keto tacos for you to choose from. Lassen Ale Works Boardroom will be pouring their craft beers for the perfect pairing. The ticket for your meal and a free beer will be in your packet that you pick up at registration, so keep them handy. Beer tickets will be available for sale and a limited number of extra meal tickets will be available as well for spectators and volunteers.”
