Bonita Sara Lea “Sally” Burk
Bonita Sara Lea “Sally” Burk went to join her Savior on September 4th, 2021. Sally was born November 9, 1940, in Lakeview, Oregon, to Earl and June Lough. She graduated Hayfork High School in 1958 and received her A.A. from Shasta College in 1961. Sally worked in the office of the California Highway Patrol for many years.
Sally was actively involved in the community through her church and volunteership with her childrens’ schools. She was proud to serve as an election poll worker in her later years. Sally will be remembered as a kind and generous woman by her family, friends, fellow church members and those in the community who interacted with her.
Sally was preceded in death by her husband, Jack, and her four siblings. She is survived by her children, Andy, Kate (Darrin) Clegg and Dorothy (Benjamin) Bond and her grandchildren Kaitlyn, Savana, Warren and Ulysses. A Celebration of Life will be held on May 13, at 10 a.m. at Community Church, 1400 Numa Rd in Susanville, California. A reception will be held after the service. Sally will be interred next to Jack, her husband of 50 years at Diamond Crest Cemetery in Susanville, California.
