BETA SIGMA MU
Beta Mu Master’s annual “Not just Raviolis” dinner will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 18 at the Monticola Club. There is a small fee to enter and raised funds will go toward the Billie and Robert Paulsen Scholarship fund. SENIOR HEALTH FAIR
Calling all seniors! Northeastern Rural Health Clinics is hosting the 2019 Senior Health Fair from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday, Oct. 18. The fair will be held at the Susanville Senior Center at 1700 Sunkist St. Flu shots will be given by the Lassen County Public Health Department and there will be many other services and information available. HALLOWEEN PARTY AT THE T & A LOUNGE

The T & A Lounge is having a few festive events this month. From 9 a.m. to closing Friday, Oct. 18 they will be having a Halloween costume party. On Nov. 1 they will be celebrating the Day of the Dead and are bringing Swish Flick face painters to get your face painted for the party theme. Both parties include drink specials and music by DJ Outlaw.
They are also having karaoke on Wednesday nights and the dart tournaments are on Thursday nights, with both of these starting at 7 p.m.
JANESVILLE EIGHTH GRADE FUNDRAISER
The Janesville eighth grade class is holding a fundraiser yard sale from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 19 and Sunday, Oct. 20. They have lots of fabulous furniture donations, home décor and other good deals. Concessions will be available, too. All proceeds go to support the class of 2020, so be sure to head on over as early as possible to do your treasure hunting.
CCW CLASS
Ken Gullion owner of J&K Guns and Stuff, tells us there are a few more spots open for the Conceal Carry Weapons Class set for Saturday, Oct. 26. Classes are available for Lassen, Plumas and Modoc county residents and CCW permits are available for the states of California and Arizona. SMALL BUSINESS WORKSHOPS
The Sierra Small Business Development Center in cooperation with the Lassen County Chamber of Commerce is holding small business workshops in Susanville at the Business and Career Network on Chestnut Street from 3 to 5 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 30 and in Alturas at the USDA Alturas Service Center on 8th Avenue from 10 a.m. to noon Thursday, Oct. 31.
Supporting entrepreneurs will include topics like identifying what business resources are available to you, exploring financing options, both traditional and alternative and understanding government contracting opportunities.
The Small Business Administration, California Capital, Alliance for Workforce Development and US Bank are also sponsors of these workshops. For more information or to register, call 582-5022.

Research is showing people who volunteer are happier and healthier, and the folks at the Lassen Humane Society are seeking volunteers who can help with any of their annual fundraising events.
