MAGICAL COUNTRY CHRISTMAS THIS WEEKEND
From 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 1, the Uptown area will kick off the holiday season with the annual Magical Country Christmas celebration. There will be live entertainment, a Christmas Parade, the Toys for Tots collection, and of course Santa will officially arrive for the tree lighting and fireworks. Several of the Uptown merchants will be open late during this event, so you can enjoy the festivities and do some holiday shopping, too. Plus, you can also enter the Santa’s Sleigh Days drawings at the participating Uptown merchants to enter to win lots of great prizes at their in store drawings, in addition to the $500 in shopping spree giveaways.
If you want to make it a night on the town, be sure to enjoy dinner at the Lassen Ale Works and a hot toddie. Right next door you’ll find the newest business to open in the uptown area, Cruise ‘N Games. They buy, sell and trade vintage video games, comic books, action figures, vinyls and more. Plus, you can try the games out in their gaming area. If you’ve got a favorite vintage game you’d like to play again, be sure to see what they have in store.
CRAFT FAIR CHANGE OF VENUE
The Soaring Eagle Blue Star Moms are holding a Christmas Crafts Fair from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, Nov. 30 and from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 1. at the Lassen High Student Center 1110 Main St. in Susanville. There will be a great selection of vendors work with unique one-of-a-kind items. They will also have homemade tamales, along with other delicious food.
VFW LAST MONTHLY BREAKFAST THIS YEAR
Mark your calendars for 7 to 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 1 for the monthly breakfast downstairs at the Veterans Memorial Building on Main Street, Susanville. Breakfast is open to the public. For a small donation you will receive a hot delicious breakfast of scrambled eggs, sausage, hash browns and S.O.S., which is country sausage gravy over toast. Heather Arter, a longtime Lassen County resident has opened her own bakery, Merry Morsels.
