ANNUAL ST. PATRICK’S DAY DINNER

Lassen Humane Society hosts its 12th Annual St. Patrick’s Day dinner with corned beef and cabbage along with a silent auction from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, March 12, at the Susanville Senior Center, located at 1700 Sunkist St. Tickets are available at the door and take out dinners available. 2020 BEST OF BROADWAY

Best of Broadway presents this year’s concert series, “Broadway & Main.” Performances will be at the Veterans Memorial Hall. There will be five shows, with the first show at 7 p.m. Friday, March 13; 2 and 7 p.m. Saturday, March 14; 6 p.m. Wednesday, March 18; 7 p.m. Friday, March 20; and 2 and 7 p.m. Saturday, March 21. TIME TO CELEBRATE

Diamond Mountain Casino and Hotel is doubling down on the celebrations! Friday, March 13 marks the fourth anniversary for the Brewery at Diamond Mountain Casino and Hotel. Stop by and enjoy one of their brews and watch the feature comedy show starting at 8 p.m. The celebration will continue Saturday, March 14, with the casino’s 24th anniversary, and the Diamond Mountain Casino and Hotel will be doing promo play give aways at 11 a.m., 2 p.m., 5 p.m. and 8 p.m. Check out this week’s color ad to see the amount you could win in promo play. Take a weekend drive to Adin and enjoy the Providence 4-H Corned Beef and Cabbage feed on Sunday, March 15. The feed will go on from noon to 5 p.m. at the Adin Community Hall. FIRE TRAINING

Big D Fire Training has the annual incident training class for fire contractors who work directly on the fire line (dozers, water tender operators, timber fallers and pickup trucks). Lauren Wagner, owner of Elevated Cake Co., loves a challenge and feels like the bigger the cake, the bigger the canvas for her to create her art. Her favorite creations? Large, elegant cakes! She’s a self-taught baker who prides herself on the unique custom cakes she creates from her handmade by scratch recipes. When she’s not creating her delicious cakes, she and her husband are busy chasing their growing family of three little ones, ages 4, 18 months and 6 months old. Wagner is taking orders for the 2020 wedding season.

“I am a mother and wife who loves cake so much I started a business out of it. I’m so lucky to have the clients who trust me with such important events in their lives,” she said.
