SECOND ANNUAL READING ADVENTURE
Lassen County Office of Education presents the second annual Reading Adventure. This is a free reading adventure, fun for the entire family. You can read alone, with a friend, or as a family. Pick up books at one of the following locations: Susanville IGA, Billington Ace Hardware, Les Schwab Tires, Margie’s Book Nook, The Mark and Westwood Family Resource Center. Visit the Lassen County Office of Education Facebook page as they go live every Tuesday, starting March 24 through April 7 at 11 a.m. for activities related to reading.

TWO JOIN NORTHEASTERN RURAL HEALTH
Northeastern Rural Health Clinic is pleased to announce Ramnik Kaur MD who started working in Family Practice as of March 9, and Emily Lewis PA-C, who started in Family Practice as of Feb. 18. Kaur’s experience is in both hospital medicine and in outpatient family medicine for complete patients exams from new born to geriatric patients. Following acute and chronic care conditions to provide ongoing care is her background and she is proficient with educating patients for healthy practices. Lewis is interested in full family practice and is excited to be integrated as a member of our community. Emily will be accepting new patients of all ages and is available 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. Call 251-5000 to set up an appointment with Kaur and Lewis. FOUNDATION FUNDRAISER POSTPONED
Due to public concerns surrounding the COVID-19; it is with regret The Banner Lassen Medical Center Foundation, Inc., a nonprofit 501(c)(3) charitable organization, announced they are postponing the planned Spaghetti Feed fundraiser scheduled for Thursday, March 26 at Diamond Mountain Casino. This fundraiser to benefit the “Tranquil Garden” project at BLMC will be rescheduled at a later date to be determined. For those who have already purchased their pre-sale dinner tickets; those tickets will be honored for the rescheduled dinner. Those wishing to request a refund, call Dorine Blankenship at 310-0188 or Judy Davis at 310-2179. To all the donors of “silent auction items,” they would like to retain your generous donation for the rescheduled dinner and silent auction. VFW CANCELS UPCOMING FOOD EVENTS
The Veterans of Foreign Wars, William Davidson, Post 2381 has canceled all upcoming food events (Post breakfast) until further notice. They have also canceled the fifth annual Welcome Home Vietnam Veterans Day Ceremony set for March 28. The decision is based on the coronavirus pandemic throughout our country. LASSEN FAMILY SERVICES CLOSED FOR NOW
The Lassen Family Services office will be closed for the time being; however, if anyone needs assistance regarding any of the services they provide, they may call the crisis line 24 hours a day at 257-5004.
LOCAL BUSINESSES CLOSURES AND UPDATES
Ed Staub & Sons has closed their office to the public effective March 17. In the interest of the community and their employees, public access will be suspended until further notice. All business can be conducted via phone, internet, fax. Their drivers will still be making propane deliveries at this time. For more information, call them at 257-3416.
