ANNUAL LIGHT UP A LIFE CEREMONY
The Honey Lake Hospice annual “Light Up a Life” tree lighting ceremony will be held at 6:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 18 at Eagle Lake Village in Susanville. This heartwarming event takes place outdoors, so you will want to dress warmly. For those who wish to honor their loved one, you may purchase a light and have the love one’s name inscribed on a dove, which will be placed on the hospice tree. Lights may be purchased at Margie’s Book Nook or Plumas Bank. They will also be having a special “Grief and The Holidays” support group meeting at the Lassen Library in Susanville next to the Grocery Outlet. See their ad in this week’s paper for more information on both of these upcoming community events.
CHRISTMAS AT THE RANCH IS NOW OPEN
Irene Doyle tells us she’s pleased to announce the annual opening of the Doyle Ranch Christmas Store. This year the gift shop will feature a great selection of unique gift and home décor items made by local artisans. The store is open every Friday through Sunday until Dec. 16. You’ll definitely want to include the short drive for a charming holiday shopping experience.
HOLIDAY ENTERTAINING FOR LESS
Well, the holidays are here and the Grocery Outlet has stocked up on everything you need to host a fabulous celebration, for less. You’ll find huge discounts on your favorite beer and wine, appetizers, gifts, and indoor and outdoor décor, too. If you haven’t shopped there lately, you’ll be pleasantly surprised by the great values on organic items, too. So don’t blow your budget this season, make the Grocery Outlet your first stop on your holiday shopping trips.

BOOK SIGNING THIS SATURDAY
Margie’s Book Nook will be hosting a book signing featuring the newly released children’s book, “Just A Plain Poor Simple Shepherd,” by author Rozlah Ridenoure. The signing will take place from 1 to 3 p.m. Nov. 18. If you’re looking for a lovely spiritual story to read to your children or grandchildren this year, be sure to pick up your signed copy.
COMMUNITY BOOK FAIR
Diamond View School will be hosting a special book fair from Scholastic, in their library Nov. 13 to 17. The funds raised will supplement the school library budget. They have a wide range of books for young teens and the latest bestsellers from more than 100 publishers. Parents and community members are invited to attend the book fair Nov. 15, 16 and 17 from 1 to 3:30 p.m. If you’re not sure what to get the young readers in your life, books make great gifts, encourage literacy and you can help raise money for much-needed school resources.
