Business Scene for the week of 12/26/17

Northeastern Rural Health Clinic and Lassen County Tobacco Awareness and Reduction program have partnered to provide free quit tobacco classes to the community. Classes will be held each Thursday in January and February from 2 to 4 p.m. at Northeastern Health Center, 1850 Spring Ridge Drive in Susanville. For best results, they recommend you attend all eight classes. Quitting is not easy, but with help, a quit plan and support from others, you can succeed. Call today to reserve your seat. Lots of our local merchants will be open on Christmas Eve to accommodate those last-minute shoppers.
The Elegant Iris and the Men’s Den will be open until 6 p.m., according to owners Blake and David Huhtala. Blake tells us, “Don’t forget the delicious handmade truffles too, they make a great gift for the hostess.” They also have tons of ornaments, another great memorable gift.
Sherry McBroome, of Sierra Jewelry, tells us they will also be open late on Christmas Eve. They don’t necessarily have an exact closing time, Sherry said, “When people stop coming in that night, we will close.”
Be sure and see what other local stores are open for your shopping convenience that day/night.

Are you sick of turkey, prime rib or ham? Having a crowd over for New Year’s Eve? Judy and Lorin Galassi, owners of Papa Murphy’s, have a great deal on two of their largest pizzas this week. They are easy to grab and take with you. Be sure and see their ad in this week’s paper for the special.
