SCHOLARSHIPS AVAILABLE

The Lassen Association of Realtors will be offering three $500 scholarships this year. The scholarships are available to any Lassen County high school senior. Applications may be picked up at the Lassen Association of Realtors office, 1740 Main St. Suite C in Susanville from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. For more information you can call 257-5220.

 

PATRICKS DAY DINNER

Knights of Columbus present the centennial St. Patrick’s Day Dinner at Monsignor Moran Hall on Saturday, March 18th from 4-7 pm. They will have the infamous cake wheel, and the traditional corned beef, cabbage and more that evening. Tickets are now available at Margie’s Book Nook and the Beauty Corral. Diamond Mountain Casino and Hotel hosts Senior Day Getaway the second and fourth Thursday of the month. They serve a delicious lunch; play bingo and lots of other fun activities. GOOD GRIEF HEALING HELP

Honey Lake Hospice hosts a monthly Good Grief support group at 6:30 p.m. at the Lassen Library the third Wednesday of the month. No matter how long it has been that you have been experiencing grief, this is a great opportunity to help you on the journey of healing. Knowing you are not alone in the process can make a big difference in processing the feelings of loss and despair. Mike Boretz, LCSW and Sandy Forrest, RN will facilitate the program. FREE WOMEN’S CONFERENCE

Lassen Community College is hosting a free community conference from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, March 8 at Middleton Hall. The theme is “Women in History: Honoring Women in Business and Labor”. Refreshments will be served and there will be a lovely performance by singer/songwriter Becky Beistline-Poulsen, who will introduce the beauty and wonderment of Alaska through song and lyrics.

In honor of her late son, Tina Cordoba (owner of Town & Country Real Estate) is offering a scholarship to a graduating Lassen High School student this year. The 2017 Nicholas Jones Memorial Scholarship applications are available in the counseling office at Lassen High School (where Nicolas attended high school), or from Town & Country’s office on Main Street in Susanville. Application deadline is April 21, 2017.
