FARMERS MARKET NOW ACCEPTING VENDORS
The 2017 Farmers Market is seeking local vendors for the upcoming season. They are looking for anyone who grows their own produce from their farm or home and is certified with their local agriculture commissioner’s office. They are also welcoming cottage food providers, artisans and poultry. If you would like more information about being a vendor in any of these categories, call the Farmers Market manager at 257-5152. The season begins June 3.
TEEN COURT COMPETITION
Who doesn’t like a little competition? At 6 p.m. April 27 the Lassen County Teen Court Commissioners will be showing off their courtroom skills by participating in the third annual Teen Court Competition at the Hall of Justice (2610 Riverside Drive in Susanville), courtroom A. Two teams will compete in a mock trail. A panel of volunteer justice partners will declare the winning team.
MARTIN’S CUSTOMER APPRECIATION
The arrival of spring always means that Martin’s Produce and Greenhouse Grand Opening and Customer Appreciation is just around the corner. From 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. this Saturday, April 22, Martin’s will be celebrating its 10th year of providing Lassen County with the largest selection of locally grown vegetable and flowering plants, combo planters and of course their famous hanging baskets. There will be complimentary refreshments, including free donuts. Martin’s is open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday. They are located at 721-425 Cappezoli Lane, Standish. Lassen County CattleWomen are holding a contest for children ages 5 to 11 who want to nominate their mom for her delicious beef recipe. See their ad in this week’s paper for the entry form. The winning entry will receive a $50 beef gift certificate for their mother.
