It’s time for the annual Customer Appreciation event throughout Susanville. Plus, they’re all accepting donations for the local Soaring Eagle Blue Star Moms chapter for their care packages mailed out monthly to the deployed troops. TAKE MOM OUT FOR A YUMMY FEAST
If you haven’t decided what to do for Mother’s Day, consider treating mom to one of the many special menus put together by several of the chefs at our local restaurants. You’ll find ads in this week’s paper with all the details and menu items being served at Diamond Mountain Casino and Hotel, the Lassen Ale Works at the Pioneer Saloon, Happy Garden Chinese Restaurant, El Tepeyac Grill and Lassen Steaks and The White House Restaurant. Eagle Lake Village is hosting a Mother’s Day Tea event, too.
COMMUNITY CLEAN-UP
The city of Susanville is looking for volunteers. Gather your family, friends and neighbors and help remove litter and recycling materials from our rivers, parks and streets. The clean-up day is set from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, May 20. Signups begin at 8:30 a.m. at Memorial Park. Enjoy complimentary doughnuts and water from Susanville Supermarket IGA. MIMOSAS AND MUFFINS

MAY IS SALSA MONTH

LASSEN HUMANE SOCIETY ANNUAL YARD SALE
Lassen Humane Society is now accepting donations for their 12th annual yard sale on May 19 and 20. You can drive in and drop off your donations at the Lassen County Fairgrounds Industrial Building Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. until May 17.
