Busy agenda for the City Council tomorrow

The Susanville City Council meets at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 2 at the City Council Chambers, 66 N. Lassen St.

The meeting begins with a closed session  that includes an employee evaluation of the city administrator and a conference with labor negotiators for the Professional Technical Unit and the Management Unit.

The public portion of the meeting opens at 5 p.m. with Employee Recognition; Business from the Floor; the Consent Calendar (minutes of the council’s July 18 special meeting, vendor and payroll warrants, consideration of Resolution No. 23-6165, an agreement with Prentice Long PC for attorney services; consideration of Resolution No. 23-6166 authorizing the mayor to execute a memorandum of understanding with the Management Bargaining Unit; consideration of Resolution No. 23-6167 authorizing the mayor to sign a memorandum of understanding with the Professional Bargaining Unit; consideration of Resolution No. 23-6163 regarding Hangar No. 30 at the Susanville Municipal Airport; consideration of Resolution No. 23-6170 authorizing the finance manager to increase the budget for the Susanville Community

Garden by $4,175 for a sink and electrical panel; and consideration of Resolution No. 23-6172 and Resolution No. 23-6156 amending the project list of street related maintenance, repair and improvement projects.

New business includes an update on the city’s Natural Gas Enterprise; consideration of Resolution No. 23-6164 regarding a long-term natural gas purchase policy; a presentation of water rate study results by IGService; consideration of Resolution No. 23-6162 authorizing the addition of one full time grant funded community services officer and authorize the finance ma ager to modify to budget as needed to implement the Permanent Local Housing Allocation Program; consider Resolution No. 23-6168 regarding a contact with Pee Wee Enterprises for work at Frank Ernaga Baseball Field; consideration of Resolution No. 23-6169 regarding an upcoming Caltrans paving project on Highway 139; a discussion regarding NextRequest; a discussion regarding Express Evaluation; consideration of Resolution No. 23-6171 regarding a revised agreement with Lassen High School regarding the School Resource Officer; and consideration of Resolution No. 23-6173 regarding funding for the pickleball courts.

Other business includes department reports, a presentation of Susanville Fire Department Squad 651 and a discussion of future council items.

The council’s next regularly scheduled meeting will be held at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 16.
