Cal Fire plans Clear Creek fuel break control burn

Cal Fire Lassen-Modoc Unit is planning on conducting a control burn operation near the intersection of County Road A21 and Highway 147, just west of Westwood starting Friday, April 30.

The project name is Clear Creel Fuel Break, and the area consists of about 300 acres of Sierra Pacific Industries land within the State Responsibility Area.

Cal Fire and the Westwood Volunteer Fire Department will use the opportunity to provide training for crews while also assisting the landowner with the burn.

The project is expected to take several months, burning in the spring and fall.
