Caltrans begins Townhill Brake Check Project

Caltrans will begin the Townhill Brake Check project starting April 11, which will expand the existing truck brake check parking area located 2 miles west of Susanville on Highway 36 in Lassen County. The project also includes new safety lighting, new striping and pavement repairs. The brake check location will be closed from April 11 to May 31.

The $1.5 million project includes 45 working days, with 15 working days requiring traffic control. The project is expected to be completed by June.
