Camp Ronald McDonald cancels summer season due to pandemic

No campers at Camp Ronald McDonald this summer as the charity reluctantly announces the cancellation of its 2020 summer season.

“Unfortunately, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we have had to cancel all camp sessions this year including Lassen County Kids Week,” said Stacey Hodge, senior director of community relations at the Ronald McDonald House Charities.

According to a statement from the charity, “Due to the recent pandemic and need for campers to remain safe and healthy, Camp Ronald McDonald at Eagle Lake is canceling its season for the 2020 summer. It is not a decision that was made lightly as camp brings so much joy and happiness to more than 1,000 participants, staff and volunteers each summer. Camp Ronald McDonald provides fun, interactive programs for those who are at risk and/or disadvantaged and regrets that the 2020 season will not happen but looks forward to an exciting 2021 season.”
