Golfers have an opportunity to spend a great day on the links and support those suffering from cancer at the same time. The Northern California Cancer Advocates, a nonprofit agency serving both Lassen and Plumas counties, hosts the tournament Saturday, Sept. 2 at the Diamond Mountain Golf Club in Susanville. The goal is to provide financial assistance to individuals in our community who are battling cancer.
So far, the group has assisted 75 cancer fighters. The tournament begins with an 11 a.m. shotgun start in which foursomes play a scramble format with awards for team score and individual feats. In addition to awards, raffle prizes and an auction, participants will be served a chorizo sandwich lunch. The organization also seeks sponsors for each hole in the tournament.
Registration forms should be returned by Aug. 16 to ensure a T-shirt in your size is available the day of the tournament. Registration forms should be emailed to NCAA, P.O Box 270938, Susanville, CA 96127, Attn: Golf Tourney.
