Carlos Hernando de Soto died January 13, 2023, in Las Vegas, Nevada, at the age of 64, following a long battle with Pancreatic Cancer.
Born in Burbank, California, December 5, 1958, to late parents Lino B. de Soto Sr. and Patricia de Soto, Carlos began a love of music at a very young age, was a self-taught guitar and bass player. He would go on to both perform, and record his music, for many years to come. He never went anywhere without his guitar, and would sit and play anywhere he was at, without prompting.
Although originally from Southern California, Susanville would become his home in 1975. He attended Lassen High School for a relatively short time but made many friends and fans alike. A true talent, pure heart, gentle nature and sense of humor are what he will forever be remembered for.
He is survived by brother LinoB. de Soto Jr. of Yerington, NV; sisters Toni de Soto of Fort Oglethorpe, GA, and Dolores de Soto of Ringgold, GA; daughters Kelly Coultrup of California, Kimberly Cassara of Modesto, CA, and son Adam de Soto of Las Vegas, NV. He was also a loving grandfather to seven grandchildren who meant the world to him.
