Chamber announces Santa’s Grand Entry deadline

Santa’s Grand Entry Parade is one of the highlights of the annual Magical Country Christmas celebration held this year from 5 to 7 p.m. In Uptown Susanville.

The Lassen County Chamber of Commerce is accepting entry forms for parade participants. The deadline to enter is Monday, Dec. 2.

Participants will gather at 5:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 7 on N. Gay Street next to the Bank of America parking lot. The parade begins at 6 p.m. sharp and travels up Main Street starting at Union Street and turns onto N. Roop Street to disperse.

All parade entries must keep the theme of Christmas, and lighted entries are encouraged. Participants may distribute candy or other items, but by hand to hand only. Candy may not be thrown. Santa and Mrs. Claus will be in the parade on the fire department’s antique fire truck. No other participants should feature Santa. No horse entries are permitted.

Entry forms should be mailed to the Lassen County Chamber of Commerce, 1516 Main St., Susanville, CA 96130.

Monday, Dec. 2 is also the deadline to apply for vendor booth space at the event.
