Chamber of Commerce board meets Sept. 9

The Chamber board will meet at noon Thursday, Sept. 9, for the monthly board meeting at Diamond Mountain Casino in the hotel conference room. The board encourages member attendance and comment. If you would like to address the board, contact the office staff prior to the board meeting so that you can be added to the agenda.

Long-time board member Matthew Pregill, Pregill Insurance, Inc., has submitted his resignation from the board. We thank him for his many contributions during his time on the board – he will be missed! The board is accepting applications to fill the unexpired board seat. Chamber members who are interested in applying can contact the office staff to have an application forwarded to them.

The September Chamber Mixer that was to be hosted by Artisan Coffee, Pizza Factory and Your H2O Pro originally scheduled for Sept. 2, has been canceled due to the Dixie Fire. They hope to reschedule for a date later in the month. We will keep you updated when a new date has been selected.

The Chamber Marketing Committee asks area businesses to take a 3-minute survey. The survey will help the Chamber serve you better. They would appreciate all responses by Sept. 30.

It has been a pleasure to serve as the Executive Director at the Chamber for the past 20 years and a privilege to work on behalf of the community and many businesses. I have announced my decision to step down as the Executive Director. The Chamber board will soon be selecting a new Executive Director and announcement will be made within the next month.
