Chamber Update
The Lassen County Chamber of Commerce will once again be coordinating the Fair Parade which will take place at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 23. Entry forms can be found on our website, lassencountychamber.org or in office at 1516 Main Street in Susanville.
The arrival of summer means the return of the Susanville Farmer’s Market on Pancera Plaza in Historic Uptown Susanville from 8 a.m. to noon every Saturday through Oct. 1. This year there will also be several Wednesday evenings markets. The market will feature fresh produce, meats, local crafts, delicious food and more. The organizers of the market are planning to bring even more vendors and excitement to this year’s market so be sure to add the farmer’s market to your Saturday and see what they have to offer. Nature Camp registration is open. This camp is brought to you by Lassen Land and Trails Trust, providing opportunity for kids to explore the nature and wonder outside our own backyard. There will be two sessions: Session 2 Aug. 1-5 for kids 10-12 years old. This is first come first served so register now! Join the fun for the 2022 Lassen County Fair, this week. Cowboy Boots and Country Roots will have everything from carnival rides, fried food, craft exhibits and much, much more. This year’s jam-packed events will kick off on Tuesday, July 19 with the 4H BBQ and a CCPRA Rodeo. Wednesday, we look forward to the grand opening of fair, ribbon cutting at 11 a.m, at the main entrance with the Miss Lassen County Pageant and the annual Horseshoe Tournament in the evening. Thursday won’t disappoint with Kiddie Day — free to all kids 12 and under — and Micro Mania Midget Wrestling Tour that night. Friday and Saturday the grandstand will host concerts featuring Aaron Watson and 90s country music legend, Tracy Lawrence. Saturday’s Fair Parade will start at 10 a.m. in Uptown Susanville and make up most of Main Street down to Fair Drive. Sunday will conclude fair with the Junior Livestock Auction and Diamond Mountain Speedway holding a demolition derby, Little Tykes Derby and races. Doyle Days returns from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday July 30. Enjoy a pancake breakfast at 7a.m. with a parade to follow at 10 a.m. and the World-Famous Lizard Races at noon. Lassen Senior Services is holding a raffle fundraiser for a chance to win a Traeger Pellet Smoker Pro 34 Model. Drawing will be held at 5 p.m. Sept. 1 at the Lassen Senior Center. Tickets are $20 each and you do not need be present to win. For more information, call 257-2113.
